MEET THE ARTIST

Miriam took many art classes and produced a variety of oil paintings in her youth on the prairies. Choosing a career in business and raising a family became her priorities but she craved to spend time on art.

In 2017, Miriam relocated to Vancouver Island. She was overwhelmed by the natural beauty in the Comox Valley and took up the brushes again. Miriam has attended a variety of classes through local studios, colleges and on-line facilitators and has changed her medium mainly to acrylics.

She is involved in the community and she loves to golf, but she does make time for art in her calendar. Taking her camera on vacation trips be they near or far, Miriam always looks for references of beauty for new potential artworks.

She has a total sense of release and creativity when in front of the easel and is gratified with the work being done. Her goal is to create art that gives the viewer “a feeling” and she continues to strive for that sensation.
